We welcome learners of all ages and levels. Programs are tailored for children, GCSE/A‑level students, and adults.

Children: Core drawing and painting skills—observation, composition, colour, and media—taught in a supportive setting to build technique and confidence.

GCSE/A‑level: Focused tuition on technique, concept development and workshop practice; portfolio guidance and college-application support to showcase individual voice and meet requirements.

Adults: Flexible classes for any level—relaxed practice or career-focused training—with small-group and one-to-one options for personalised feedback and progress.

Our Classes

Our courses are suitable for complete beginners, both adults and children, as well as for more experienced artists, and they are available on weekdays, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

What Is Paintbox studios

Paintbox Studios is a growing, independently owned art school and atelier specializing in drawing and painting. Our welcoming, beautifully lit studio offers a unique learning environment where students of all levels can explore and develop their creative abilities. With personalized instruction, well-curated materials, and a focus on both technical skill and individual expression, Paintbox supports each artist’s journey—whether beginning, refining technique, or preparing a portfolio—within a supportive community that values curiosity, craft, and sustained artistic growth.

Our Tutors

Founding partners Adam Vass and Fanny Lacroix bring together a collective of like-minded artist-tutors who work alongside students, sharing the strengths of their individual styles and experience. All tutors are practicing artists with advanced academic training (Master’s or PhD), offering a challenging, multifaceted approach to making and researching art. This model fosters close mentorship, critical dialogue, and exposure to diverse methodologies—supporting rigorous studio practice, conceptual development, and scholarly inquiry.
